I got this lovely book from the library the other day called “The Complete Photo Guide to Crochet” by Margaret Hubert, and have been having so much fun trying out all the different stitches it teaches (literally hundreds)!! My current favorite is the puff stitch which creates a little “bubble” by pulling the hook through several loops in the same stitch (for a puff stitch tutorial click here).
I came across a really cute pattern for fingerless gloves using this stitch on a super cute blog called Hopeful Honey and tweaked the pattern a bit (when following the original they turned out just a bit too narrow for me, so instead of skipping a stitch between puffs I just did a single crochet in the stitch between, and I added a couple of rows to make them a tad longer). (Click here for the original pattern.) I used Caron Simply Soft 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn Here’s how they turned out:
I tried to take a picture of both together but unfortunately I don’t have three arms. B has requested a pair in pink, so I’ll rework the pattern to make them kid size and will post them once I get them done. I’ll be making these available in my quickly expanding crochet section of my Etsy shop in the next few days, so be sure to stop by:)
